Northlight Images is reporting the 5D Mark III will come six months after 1Ds Mark IV. If so, bye bye Canon. I'm planning to pick up a high-IQ full-frame camera with pro autofocus capability and right now the only camera below $5,000 that remotely fulfills that capability is the Nikon D700 (though I am waiting to see if Nikon has a D800 planned for this summer)...
Hello Canon? Trying to get customers to buy a camera for $2,700 (i.e., 5D Mark II) that autofocuses worse than $800 consumer cameras is fricking ridiculous.
(Though this rumor contradicts others that have been circulating, I wouldn't be suprised if it turns out to be true. However, Canon Rumors is rating it CR1, which is to say, pretty low.
TechRadar says they expect an early 2011 release... I think their sourcing is the same as here, which is to say a guess-based-on-some-random-shit they pulled off the web.)
