Nikon Rumors has a newsflash for us: The Nikon D4 and Nikon D400 cameras will be announced in August with a Nikon D700 replacement unlikely before next year. This later schedule for the would-be D800 follows the pattern of the previous line of cameras, the D3 + D300 + D700, according to the rumor website. Nikon Rumors anticipates the D300s replacement will use the new 24 megapixel APS-C Sony sensor also coming in the Sony a77. The D3s replacement will arrive first and will be followed by a D700 successor (likely with the same full-frame sensor) four years after the original D700 was released, according to this information (2012).
