Marleen Van Iersel recovered from a back injury at the Beijing Grand Slam last week in time for the Dutch duo to compete at the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships in Rome, but they did not make it into the medal rounds. Keizer/Van Iersel has been one of several surging European teams this year, taking first place at a tournament in Czech Republic as well as the Shanghai Open.
