Sony Alpha Rumors has it from their sources that Sony will 24-megapixel translucent A77 this fall to replace the A700. It looks like the price will somewhere in the vicinity of the Canon 60D or the Nikon D7000. Personally, I would prefer a 16-megapixel sensor with solid performance, as seen in the D7000 and Pentax K-5, but I don't have any interest in purchasing a Sony so I'm not their target market. With the translucent mirror, the camera will already be receiving a 2/3 stop light loss. Expect heavy noise suppression on the A77. The website also reports that Sony has not given up on the full-frame market and will be releasing a full-frame translucent camera in 2012.
Caution: these are rumors.
what can I say, some people just hate something new and revolutionary because they own a different brand. is it really hard to admit a77 could become the best simply because you have bought couple of Canon or Nikon lenses
