I came across these window washers the other day as the swung down one of the office towers attached to the Grand Gateway shopping mall in Shanghai. I remember from my old days working in an office tower the surprise of catching a washer hanging down outside my window. While these fellows have more gear than Alain Robert usually does, I don't envy their job. Still, they must have a nice view of the city. Softball and baseball have yet to catch on in China but hopefully they will become more popular in the years ahead. These photos were taken at a university intramural match in the Shanghai suburbs.
I meant to bring my 7D but forgot it so I took the pictures using an HTC Desire mobile phone and Vignette for Android software. It was a fun three-inning game.

We hitchhiked up the mountain in a police jeep, then slowly navigated our way down the terraces (getting quite lost along the way) before ending up at a Miao lusheng-and-dance festival.
